UVic - Beta Tech Center
The Technological Centre in Biodiversity, Ecology and Environmental and Food Technology (BETA TC) is a technological center of Universitat de Vic-Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC) and counts with more than 85 researchers and technical personnel, which include an extensive knowledge and expertise in the sustainable development of the society through research & innovation. BETA TC aims to be a relevant actor for the technological development, the improvement of the competitiveness and the quality of life of rural societies, by executing R&D&I projects and transferring the knowledge to the private and public sector.
Role in the project
BETA UVIC serves as the project coordinator and will also collaborate on various tasks with the involved partners. BETA will assist in implementing a restoration monitoring plan, selecting appropriate areas, villages, and farmers for the proposed Agroforestry Systems (AFS), and establishing protocols for data collection to assess the impact of restoration on soil biodiversity and economic factors. Additionally, BETA UVIC will contribute to all cross-cutting tasks aimed at maximizing impact, including developing locally-adapted knowledge-sharing methods and scaling up innovation.
