BDIARI - Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute - Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry

Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute (BDIARI) is one of the largest research institute in Turkey for crop and animal research under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. BDIARI has a multidisciplinary structure mainly crop breeding, agronomy, plant pathology, socioeconomic, quality technology, conservation agriculture, climate change and adaptation strategies, animal breeding and feeding, biodiversity for whole Turkey. 

Role in the project

BDIARI is involved in several task in WP1, WP2, WP3, WP4, WP5 and WP6.

In WP2, BDIARI will determine the suitable areas and farmers for the implementation of the proposed AFS. Then will improve the quality and availability of seedlings in AFS applied areas. As a last task in WP2, BDIARI will be responsible for the planting and ensuring the success of the AFS established and assessing of social fencing.

In addition, BDIARI is responsible for the determination of the barriers to implementing agroforestry in WP3. BDIARI is also co-leading to Task 5.3 (in WP5) with UEVORA to leverage Agro-Forestry Results-based Models in AFS implemented areas.
